Middle School Athletics
Middle School Athletics for Winter 2011-12
IMPORTANT! ALL ATHLETES must pick up an athletic card from the Middle School office. This card needs to be turned into the coach BEFORE the student will be allowed to try-out and practice with a team.
Nordic Skiing
There is no separate Middle School team. Everyone is welcome to join the Nordic Ski team. No experience is necessary and there are no cuts. Your son will be taught the techniques of Nordic Skiing. The season began November 14th.

Swimming and Diving
There is no separate Middle School swim team. Middle School students are welcome and encouraged to join. The season begins November 28th.
Coach: Mr. Barnes
Hockey
There is no separate Middle School hockey team. Athletes are encouraged to play with their own age group and in their own association. If a player would like to try out for the STA hockey team, please see Coach Vannelli. Try-outs began November 14th.
Middle School Basketball
Basketball began November 14th. Try-outs and practices are during the Phy-Ed period for 7th and 8th graders. Please bring PE uniform, gym shoes and white socks.
Coaches: Mr. Zenner (7A), Mr. Klein (8A), Mr. Weinberg (7B and 8B)
Wrestling
Wrestling begins November 21. There is no separate Middle School team. There are no cuts and no prior experience is needed. There will be a meeting for anyone interested in being a part of the team this year on this coming Tuesday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Alpine Sking
Began November 14. There is not a separate Middle School team. Middle School students are welcome to try-out for the JV and Varsity teams. For more information contact Mr. Jack Zahr at jzahr@cadets.com.

All athletes must fill out a Minnesota State High School Athletic Eligibility form, the concussion addendum form and have a current physical on file. Forms can be found at cadets.com/athletics.

PARKING NOTICE FOR BASEBALL/LACROSSE GAMES:
Our neighbors at Patterson Dental have graciously allowed STA fans to use the last row of their parking lot for all baseball/lacrosse games. Please respect the signs and the designated parking spaces set aside for STA parking - the spaces nearest to the entry gate, so there is no need to go any farther into the lot.
