The Saint Thomas Academy Rifle Team
The Saint Thomas Academy Rifle Team, a tradition that dates back to the 1900's, is a team consisting of 15 of the top marksmen in the school. Moderated by CW4 Paul Preblich, the Rifle Team competes in Junior ROTC, National Rifle Association (NRA), American Legion, and Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) matches, ranging anywhere from a regional postal match to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. The Rifle Team fires Avanti .177 cal air rifles as well as Kimber .22 cal rifles. The season is from November to March. Practices for the .177 air rifles are Tuesday through Thursday, while the .22 practices are on Monday.
