Lynch has extensive administrative, teaching and coaching experience to lead the varsity baseball team as well as the Academy’s entire 7-12 grade baseball program.

“Bobby Lynch is an excellent teacher-coach, who is well-prepared and leads with a style that champions an attitude and draws out the best in his players and other coaches,” said Rick Johns, director of athletics and activities. “He believes hard work, dedication and doing everything to the best of your ability is the template for continuing to build the Saint Thomas Academy baseball program.”

For the past three years, Lynch was a varsity assistant and infield coach, and head junior varsity coach at Mounds View High School, where the teams won the MSHSL State Tournament in 2013 and 2014, and the consolation championship in 2015. In addition to his on-field duties, Lynch also managed and communicated personnel movements between the varsity and JV teams, and developed and implemented practice and game plans for the high school program.

Prior to Mounds View High School, Lynch was the varsity infield coach and head coach of the JV squad at Augsburg College, where he assisted with the administration and day-to-day operations of the NCAA Division III baseball program. Lynch has also coached for Centennial High School, North Branch High School and PHD Baseball. Lynch serves as program manager for Lil’ Sluggers of Saint Paul and a baseball instructor at Complete Game Training Facility in Lino Lakes, Minn.

Lynch said, “I am honored to accept the position as head coach of the Saint Thomas Academy baseball program. I am excited to work with the players, and help them achieve their goals as baseball players. I am proud to say that I am the newest Cadet!”

Lynch has a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Augsburg College and is a K-12 certified teacher. He lives in New Hope, Minn., with his wife Ariana and their daughter.
