Students Recognized for Life-Saving Actions

News Date : 09/26/2016

On Monday, Sept. 26, two Saint Thomas Academy and three Visitation School students were recognized for their quick actions that saved the life of their Latin teacher, Mitch Taraschi, who had a stroke during their class in early May. They sought help immediately and prevented serious long-term implications for Taraschi, who was transported to the hospital, underwent surgery and returned to the classroom just one week later.

Taraschi presented certificates to the following students in front of their peers at Saint Thomas Academy:

V. Motzel ’18
T. Litecky ’18
M. Daly VIS ’18
K. Martin VIS '18
A.M. Underwood VIS '18
While Saint Thomas Academy and Visitation School are separate schools - STA is all male and Visitation is all girls - the Catholic, college prep schools share specialized classes such as world languages.
