Theatrical opportunities abound for Saint Thomas Academy and Visitation students. Involvement in VISTA Productions allows them to apply their scholastic knowledge while nurturing their creative talents. The skills acquired through theatre will not only round out an educational experience, it will last a lifetime. Consider the many areas of exploration; acting, scenic design, costuming, choreography, comedy improvisation, stage managing, technical theatre, dancing, singing, producing…all of these are part of the VISTA program.

2007-08 Theatre Season
VISTA Productions is planning a challenging and fun season.
Our Fall Play, 1940's Radio Hour, is a musical tribute to the glory days of radio. Old favorites such as In The Mood and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy will be played by members of the STA Jazz Band as we take a peek into the character-filled world of the "WOV" studio. The zany and madcap performers bring life and mishaps to the wartime radio show. A nod toward Christmas will be sure to put you in the holiday mood.

Full Circle Dance Company, an extension of VISTA Productions, has traditionally been a vehicle for student dancers, writers and choreographers. This year is no exception. PERSPECTIVE will explore the various ways people view each other. Using spoken word, movement, dance and vocal performance, it promises to provide a thought-provoking look into being human.

VISTA Improv Team will challenge your inner giggle as they offer two evenings of in-the-moment comedy. The team will be trained by professional actress and comedy improv expert Michelle Guertin (of Duddly Riggs Brave New Workshop). It promises to be an evening of creative fun.

Into The Woods is one of Stephen Sondheim's most challenging pieces of musical theatre. VISTA's Spring Musical will delight young and old as the characters, all from well-known fairy tales, go on their journeys to find their heart's desire....but to what end? Come and see this compelling story set to some of the most intricate and beautiful music ever written for theatre.
