Orienteering
The Orienteering team is a year-round activity. Practice meets are in the fall and winter while the conference meets are in the spring. Cadets are welcome to join any time that they wish. Orienteering is also taught at the Senior Day and Camp Ripley. The team has won the Conference title the last three years in a row and have also won the Upper Midwest Competition by placing first over 18 schools the last few years.
For those who don’t know what Orienteering is, it is the skill of finding your way through a series of checkpoints on an unfamiliar course using a map and a compass. Typically a course is set in a local state park. The events are timed to see who is the quickest at completing the course. Meets last for a couple of hours on Saturdays or Sundays. If you are interested in joining, please talk to fearless leader 1SGT Hanson.
