Graduation Requirements

Students must successfully complete a minimum of the following academic courses in 9th through 12th grade for graduation.

English - 4 years
Fine Arts - 1/2 year
Health - 1/2 year
Leadership - 4 years (or each year at STA)
Mathematics - 3 years
Physical Education - 2 years
Science (Laboratory) - 3 years (biology and chemistry are required)
Social Studies - 3 years to include: World History and U.S. History
Theology - 4 years
World Language - 3 years/ third level*

*The World Language requirement for students graduating in 2010 and 2011 is three years of the same language in high school.

Physical Science is required for all 9th graders except for those freshmen who take Honors Biology.

The three-year requirement for Mathematics must be completed in grades 9 through 12.

The Dean of Academics may make allowances for transfer students.

In addition to the academic requirements, all graduating seniors must have completed 100 hours of community service and delivered a "Senior Speech" to the student body at Formation.
