Saint Thomas Academy has the largest financial assistance package available, as a percentage of tuition, for a private school in Minnesota. We awarded more than $2,000,000 in need-based grants for the 2010-11 school year.

During the 2010-11 school year, the average financial assistance package per student
was $7,900. That decreased tuition by almost half.

The Academy awards at least 26 merit scholarships to incoming students every year.
That is a minimum of $25,000 available in addition to financial assistance.

Saint Thomas Academy students traditionally score higher than the Minnesota and
national averages for SAT and ACT college entrance exams.

Ninety-eight percent of the Class of 2010 went on to post-secondary education (two are playing junior hockey). Eighty percent of the Class received at least one scholarship; all scholarships totaled more than $4 million in value. The Class of 2010 had two National Merit Scholarship recipients, four finalists and 11 commended students.

STA offers more than 40 co-curricular athletics and activities – every student will
find his niche.

Research shows that boys have different learning styles than girls. The faculty members
at STA design their curriculum toward boys, allowing them to excel in the classroom.
Approximately 80% of the teachers hold a Masters or Ph.D. in their field.

The average class size at STA is 17 – one of the lowest in the metro area for
private schools. This allows for individual attention to every student.

As part of the graduation requirement, seniors volunteer 100 hours of community
service time to organizations across the Twin Cities. On a regular basis, students also work
with Neighborhood House, Bridging, Inc., Wilder Foundation and Meal on Wheels.
Campus Ministry programs work with people in the state, the country and abroad.
