Volunteer For The 2010 Community Auction!

The Auction is the only fundraiser for the school and its success is vital to support teachers' salaries and benefits, financial assistance for students, and programs in and out of the classroom.

Your assistance is needed to create a successful Auction. Below is a list of areas where volunteers are needed during the months leading up to Auction Weekend. Working on the Auction is a fun way to support your son's education and a great way to meet other STA parents.

If you want to help, please download the volunteer form and send it to the Auction Office:

3) Deliver the completed form to school

Volunteers are needed for the following positions:

Let's Party (fomerly Academy Activities): Let's Party are events that can occur at any time following the Auction, and are adult gatherings only. Activities have included cooking lessons, themed parties or dinners, Tennis or golf, pool parties and more. We need hosts, underwriters and connections to unique opportunities. The committee will solicit Let's Party activities through the Mothers’ and Fathers’ Club meetings, parent and friend contacts, etc.
Timeframe: Host a Let's Party event after April 30, 2010


Auction Acquisitions:
help collect donations for the Auction
Timeframe: November - January, contact people and business that have donated in the past and ask for a donation for this year.

Catalog Writing: help write item descriptions for the catalog, guidelines provided
Timeframe: As your time allows December and January

Catalog Editing: help edit item descriptions for the catalog, guidelines provided
Timeframe: December and January

Decorations: help create the needed decorations for the Auction
Timeframe: January - April as your time permits

Mailings: help prepare, label, stuff and mail materials for the Auction
Timeframe: November - April

Production: Volunteer and help organize pre-Auction production jobs including but not limited to the following areas: audiovisual, tables and chair placement, Silent and Live, Gala Table Top, etc. Deliver all Auction items and return to Auction storage for event. Heavy participation with production during auction weekend.
Timeframe: January - April

Raffles: help fill out the raffle tickets as they are purchased
Timeframe: once a month at school, November - April


NOTE: This list does not include all volunteer opportunities for the week of the Auction. Information on those opportunities will be included in the Cadet Incentive Program in February.
