2009 STA Cross Country Team

The team placed first in the conference for the third consecutive year. The team placed second at the sectional meet and qualified for the state tournament. The Cadets placed 4th at the state tournament (the highest placement in school history). Other team championships: Dakota Invitational, Red Knight Invitational, St. Olaf Showcase.

The team also earned the Gold Standard of Academic Excellence Award with a team GPA of 4.02 (criteria: the top five GPAs are selected from the state roster of nine, then averaged to give a team score; the Gold standard is 3.75 to 4.0).

Coach Todd Hierlmaier was named the Section Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second straight year.
