Hello STA Track Parents!
Welcome to the 2012 STA Track and Field season! We are the parents of track captains C. Guidera, T. Thuente and P. Farley. We will provide you with information about the track program throughout the season.
Meet Information:
The boys should bring their own beverages and snacks to each meet.
Typical meet order of events: (The field events are held at the same time as the running events)
4 x 800 Meter Relay
100 Meter Hurdles
100 Meter Dash
4 x 200 Meter Relay
1600 Meter Run
4 x 100 Meter Relay
400 Meter Dash
300 Meter Hurdles
800 Meter Run
200 Meter Dash
3200 Meter Run
4 x 400 Meter Relay
Home Meets
We will need parent volunteers to help at our home meets. The meets for which we need to provide the most help are the meets on Thursday, April 12 and Tuesday, May 15. We may need to provide a couple of workers for the Catholic Invite and JV on May 3rd and 4th, but not the full crew. We typically need eight timers, six field event workers, and a couple of extras to help as needed (usually field events). They can be adults or recent grads. Please contact us if you are able to help with any of the home meets.
Concession Stand Help
Saint Thomas Academy hosts the annual Catholic Invitational Meet on Thursday, May 3rd (JV) and Friday, May 4th (Varsity). The STA Track parents run the concession stand to raise money for the Track program. We will be asking for donations of pop and Gatorade and recruiting helpers to work in the stand. Typically, varsity families help at the JV meet and JV families help at the varsity meet. We will be sending out more information about this shortly.
End of the Season Picnic
There will be an end of season picnic near the end of May prior to graduation and finals. We will be sending out more information about that soon.

2011 Season
Congratulations to C. Guidera '12 for setting a new school record for the triple jump (44' 0") at the May 31, 2011, sections meet. He was the conference triple jump champion. T. Thuente '12 was the conference champion in both 110 HH and 300 IH and placed third in the sections; David Miller '11 was conference champion in 800m and placed fifth in the section.
