College Counseling

Welcome from the Saint Thomas Academy College Counseling Center!  Our mission is to help students realize his college bound potential and support him in making good decisions for the next stage in his academic career.  It is our belief that students, parents and the College Counselors will work together and communicate clearly regarding all aspects of the college search process.

While students must remain the driving force in the college search and selection process, the College Counseling Center will provide the resources and guidance to help students and parents navigate through this exciting and important time in life. The Saint Thomas Academy College Counselors will advise and educate students and families on the intricacies of the college search and decision making process. We are liaisons and advocates, dedicated to informing colleges and universities of the quality of Saint Thomas Academy's college preparatory education.

Our collective goal is to personalize the college application experience by matching a student to a range of schools on all levels – academic, co-curricular and social. We ask that students are engaged in the college search process, self reflect and communicate with us often. We have consulted many resources and have used our years of expertise to provide what we hope is a helpful, informative, practical and convenient resource for STA students and families.  As you come to know our office, you will see that we work as a team to serve students and families.  And most of all, we look forward to getting you know you better!

Dual Enrollment
Through STA’s Dual Enrollment program, eligible juniors and seniors can earn college credit in select courses while still in high school, thanks to partnerships with Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and Saint Louis University 1818 Advanced College Credit Program. These college-level courses, taught by STA faculty, offer students an opportunity to experience the rigor of higher education, strengthen their transcripts, and demonstrate academic initiative, key advantages in the college admission process. Dual Enrollment is an excellent way for motivated students to explore potential majors and get a head start on their college journey, right here at STA. 

Leadership Pathways
Juniors and seniors at Saint Thomas Academy can deepen their learning and prepare for life after high school through the Leadership Pathways program. The program offers opportunities for exploration, skill development, and meaningful experiences that help students grow as leaders. By engaging in projects and working closely with the College Counseling Center, students are supported in connecting their academic interests with future goals.
