Leadership Pathways at Saint Thomas Academy: Individualizing education for you!What are Leadership Pathways?Leadership Pathways at Saint Thomas Academy (STA) is an innovative academic program designed to complement our rigorous college preparatory curriculum. This program provides students with the opportunity to explore their interests, develop specialized skills, and maximize career exploration opportunities. Rooted in our Catholic values, Leadership Pathways focuses on educating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—preparing students to become men of integrity and character.
Pathways Offered:
STA offers five distinct Leadership Pathways, each culminating in a Capstone project:
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Designed for students interested in fields such as engineering, computer science, and health sciences.
- Global Competency Focuses on international relations, cultural studies, and global business.
- Business & Economics Prepares students for careers in finance, management, and entrepreneurship.
- Fine/Applied Arts & Design Explores fields such as architecture, graphic design, and creative arts.
- Public Service Provides insight into careers in law enforcement, government, and non-profit sectors.

The Capstone Project
Every student enrolled in a Leadership Pathway completes a Capstone project that demonstrates their acquired knowledge and skills. This could include:
- Internships or job shadowing experiences
- Scientific experiments
- Research papers
- Art or engineering projects
- Service learning initiatives
- A lecture or presentation about findings or topic of study
When to Enroll?
Students are encouraged to start considering Leadership Pathways as early as their freshman year and make a decision by their junior year. Freshman and sophomore years serve as a period of exploration, while junior and senior years focus on deeper engagement and refinement.
How to Get Started
Enrollment in Leadership Pathways is available during course registration. Juniors can select their desired Pathway and work with their advisors to ensure their course selections align with program requirements.
