The Social Studies Department at Saint Thomas Academy invites you to be a judge in our 27th annual History Day in Minnesota contest. This year’s contest features our 8th and 11th grade students creating websites, documentaries, and performances on the theme of “Communication in History.”
Because this year’s national, state, and regional competitions will be held virtually, we are going to prepare our students by holding a virtual school event. This will change the judging experience this year, but the change may make it easier for some to participate because the judging will be done mostly at your own pace.
Our students will submit their projects for judging on Wednesday, February 24. Judges will receive links to the projects that day and will have several days to review them. Judges will schedule a time to consult with the other members of their judging team, and will create a ranked list of their entries. They will then return their rankings to Mr. Hoverson by Monday, March 1 by 5:00 pm.
If you are interested in judging, please fill out the form located at here by Sunday, February 21. You will receive a confirmation email with additional information and links to judging instructional videos and critique sheets.
Thank you for supporting our history students!
