Excellence in the Classroom: Celebrating Mrs. Ingebrigtsen
Ms. Deborah Edwards

At Saint Thomas Academy, we believe that a world-class education is defined by the caliber of the mentors in the classroom. Our faculty members do not just teach subjects; they inspire mastery, curiosity, and a lifelong commitment to excellence. A premier example of this dedication is Tess Ingebrigtsen, a cornerstone of our Science Department. We are incredibly proud to share that Mrs. Ingebrigtsen was recently named the Minnesota recipient of the National Association of Geoscience Teachers Outstanding Earth Science Teaching Award.

This honor is more than just a certificate. It is a recognition of the energy, care, and expertise that Mrs. Ingebrigtsen brings to her students every single day. The selection committee noted that her teaching style does not just deliver facts—it strengthens the entire school community and builds true scientific literacy in the next generation of leaders. This level of expert mentorship is exactly what defines the Saint Thomas Academy experience. Our educators are recognized nationally by organizations like the Geological Society of America and the American Geosciences Institute, ensuring that our curriculum remains at the forefront of modern science.

Through this award, our science program gains exclusive access to advanced Earth Science curricula and resources from the U.S. Geological Survey, which directly benefits our Cadets’ hands-on learning and research capabilities. When a student walks into a Saint Thomas Academy classroom, he is being guided by a professional who is at the very top of their field. Mrs. Ingebrigtsen embodies our mission by fostering an environment where faculty excellence is the standard, ensuring that our students are prepared to lead with intelligence and integrity.

Congratulations to Mrs. Ingebrigtsen!
