Nordic Skiing Team
Nordic ski season runs through the second week of February. All students in grades 6-12 are welcome. No prior skiing experience is necessary. Nordic meet schedule is being finalized at the conference level; the schedule will be posted under the "Schedule" tab as soon as it is finalized.
Student athletes should be prepared to run outside regardless of the weather. This means running shoes, hats, gloves, sweatpants, etc.
Also, experienced skiers should have their ski equipment in the ski room on the first day, including roller ski gear and helmets.
Practices are held:
Monday–Thursday, 3:30-5:00 p.m.,
Friday, 3:00-4:30 p.m.
We will meet each day in the lower middle school commons. Be ready to practice.
Off campus practices are posted here and may be adjusted due to weather conditions.
Mandatory for Varsity level skiers, JV are encouraged to come.
New Skiers typically learn to skate ski first and then when they have more experience we introduce classical skiing which requires different equipment. The reason for learning both techniques and buying both sets of equipment is the conference, section, and state meets are set up in a format that requires the varsity skiers to race two races on the same day, one classic, and one skate. The format is called a pursuit race.
Visit the conference website for schedules, scores, and directions for all levels of competition.
