A fun fact about yourself: Coach Lepsche, Coach, Walsh, Coach McCarthy, and Coach Abbott all coached me in either high school or college.

Why Saint Thomas Academy? As a St. Thomas Academy graduate of 2004, and later student-teacher and coach from
2008-2010, I had the privilege of witnessing first-hand how STA develops boys into men of character. It is an honor to be back at STA and join this committed team of educators and coaches who all share one common goal.
A fun fact about yourself: I spent 10 years teaching and studying Mandarin in China, and also ran a marathon on the Great Wall!

All varsity football players / parents must complete the online MSHSL paperwork and baseline IMPACT concussion testing with our athletic trainer, Cole Hartwigsen. In addition, all players must have a physical completed within the last three years on file with the school nurse. Physicals need to be uploaded into final forms.

2026 Grades 9 FOOTBALL SEASON INFORMATION
The regular season for grades 9 Football runs from Monday, August 17th through Thursday, October 22nd. All 9th grade football players are welcome to join the varsity football team for practices during the playoff run at the end of the season. More details to come on this invitation.
For those players who are injured for the season or others at STA who would like to help manage the team we would welcome your help!
For those players who didn’t participate in summer football and don’t have your equipment we will take care of that on the first day of fall practice.
Weekly Practice Schedule
We will practice Monday through Friday during the season. Depending on the game day per week, the schedule may change a bit.
Practices will be from 3:30- 5:30 p.m on Monday - Friday with games targeted for Thursday on normal varsity game weeks. Again, this could change based on the game schedule and your coaches will manage those communications. 9th grade football players will lift twice a week after practice but still be done at 5:30pm.

What do I need to play football?
Cleats: Game cleats must be white or black. Our preference being that whichever shoe color you pick is majority white or majority black. Please stay away from colors that aren’t part of our uniform or school colors (ie. anything not white, gray, black or one of our blues).
Socks: Our sock color is white for games.
Sleeves/Tights: All sleeves and tights should be white for games.
Gloves: Stay within our team / school colors (Gray, White, Black or Blues)
Mouthguards: Please purchase a mouthguard for summer and fall camp (mold as needed)
*All other equipment such as pads, helmets, girdles, belts with game and practice jerseys will be provided and equipment handout.
