Grades 6-8 mark an important transition in a young boy's character development and spiritual growth. At STA, special emphasis is placed on preparing young boys for high school learning, including building self-esteem and confidence, as well as improving communication, writing, listening and study skills.
From Mr. Jamie Jurkovich, Director of Middle School:
"Saint Thomas Academy is committed to keeping Middle School classes small, allowing for personal instruction and developing a sense of camaraderie among our students. One of the ways to promote friendships and leadership skills is our "House" program. Students are divided into houses with students in charge of each house, along with faculty advisors. Performing service work and keeping the hallways clean are just a few activities done on a rotating basis per house."
Your Son's Educational Experience
In recent years, many other schools have cut fine arts and other "optional" classes. Our administrators have worked hard to ensure that we not only continue to provide valuable options, but we have increased the number of electives offered. We continue to offer the following important educational experiences:
- Science labs,
- Mathematics options,
- World Languages,
- Math Team,
- Quiz Bowl,
- Painting, and,
- Computer Graphics.
