Senior Information

Senior Service

Dozens of seniors are busy this summer completing their Senior Service Requirement of 40 hours.  Many seniors are working with children in a church or educational setting, visiting the elderly, attending special needs camps as 1-1's at a variety of agencies.

Although the senior graduation requirement is 40 hours, 10 of the 40 can be completed at STA summer athletic camps, Feed My Starving Children, Eagle Scout projects, community youth sports camps, etc. Many seniors complete the final 10 hours of volunteer service during senior year participating on popular opportunities that involve the Honor Guard, Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels, STA Admissions Events, etc.

That leaves 30 hours of service described as "direct-care" service to children, the elderly, special-needs populations, special-needs youth camps, church youth activities, and service oriented mission trips.

If you have any questions about whether your service is with an approved agency, email Mr. Seidel at jseidel@cadets.com.

Once the agency minimum of 30 hours is completed, an agency rep (not a student or parent) should email Mr. Seidel to confirm the completed service.  That student will then be eligible for next May's Senior Project Lottery number assignment to be held in mid-September for those that did service this summer.

Students are NOT required to complete their 40 hours this summer.  The deadline for the senior requirement is March 1, 2020.

FORMAL Senior Portraits

Each year, every senior will have his picture taken at school by a professional photographer. These individual photo sessions will take place during the school day throughout the week of December 7 through 11. The specific portrait date and time of your son's session will be sent to senior parents in the fall. Seniors should be prepared with regulation haircuts and full Class A uniform with blouse coat. These photographs will be available for purchase and will be featured in the senior section of the 2020-21 Kaydet yearbook.

More information will be posted here in the near future.

Class of 2021 Group Photo

Monday, October 26 @ 11:45 a.m.

Hello Parents/Guardians of Seniors,

Mark Your Calendar! Monday, October 26 at 11:45 a.m.  It is a tradition each year that the senior class has a formal photograph taken together as a group. This is a required event. The Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 safety guidelines for group photos require the photo to be taken outside.  Boys must wear a mask until the brief moment that the photograph instructs them to remove it for the photo.

SENIOR CLASS GROUP PHOTO

All seniors must report to Gerry Brown Stadium on the STA logo mid-turf at 11:45 a.m.
Do not schedule appointments during this time. 100% attendance is our goal.

SIX-YEAR VETERANS PHOTO

Did your son attend Saint Thomas Academy from seventh grade through senior year? “Six-Year Veterans” will also have their photo taken together as a group, after the full senior class group photo, on Monday, October 26 at 11:45 a.m.   Please email Mrs. Doran if your son is a six-year veteran to ensure he is included in the photo.

Remember: the boys should wear their Class A with blouse coat on October 26.
