Clay Target

A Brief History of the Saint Thomas Academy and Visitation Clay Target Team:

The Saint Thomas Academy and Visitation (STA/VIS) Clay target team began in the Spring of 2013 as the Saint Thomas Academy Trap Team. That spring, the team consisted of ten Cadets shooting trap only.  In the spring of 2016, the team invited students from Visitation to compete on that year, and we began shooting both a fall and spring season.

The spring 2017 season saw the addition of skeet and sporting clays to the competitive events team and the name was changed to the Saint Thomas Academy and Visitation Clay Target team.

Recently, team members competed in the regional tournament in Grand Island, Nebraska and the National Tournament in San Antonio, Texas. In those tournaments, team members shot:

  • Olympic trap, Olympic skeet, American trap, American skeet and sporting clays as well as several exhibition events.

The coaching staff includes Mr. Justin Matelski, Mr. Michael Martin, and Mr. Tom Revnew.
