Saint Thomas Academy’s Hallum Drafted by Las Vegas Golden Knights

The Las Vegas Golden Knights chose Saint Thomas Academy senior Jackson Hallum of Eagan in the third round of the NHL draft by the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Hallum was the 91st overall pick in the draft.

Hallum, a center, is known for his speed, versatility and play-making abilities. In the 2019-20 regular season, he scored 18 goals, 22 assists and 40 points in 31 games for the Cadets. He was a key player for the Cadets as the team won the conference championship and advanced to the quarterfinals of the state high school hockey tournament. After graduation, he will play a year of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League. In his previous season with the Upper Midwest High School Elite Hockey League, Hallum played 18 games, scoring 12 goals, 14 assists and 26 points. He has committed to play Division I hockey with the University of Michigan Wolverines after juniors.

“What a great day for Jackson and the Cadet hockey community,” said Head Hockey Coach Trent Eigner. “Jax is a great player and more importantly a better human being. I know I speak for our entire coaching staff when I say it’s been a blast to watch him develop his game. We are looking forward to his senior campaign.”
