Favorite Teacher: Miss Myers--Second Grade. She was the first one to show me that learning was a matter of discovery and not just knowing stuff. She encouraged my special interests even though they probably distracted me from some of the things I was supposed to be focused on.

Favorite Book or Movie: The Complete Annotated Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, edited by William S. Baring-Gould. This developed my love for history like no other book. It wasn't just that someone wondered if the case really could have taken place in July 1895 based on the situations described, but that there were ways that one could research it and find out.
